Q1: What is a headshot? A: A headshot is a professional photograph typically taken from the shoulders up, used for business profiles, acting portfolios, social media, and other professional purposes.
Q2: Why do I need a professional headshot? A: A professional headshot creates a strong first impression, conveys your personality, and enhances your personal or business brand. It's essential for LinkedIn profiles, company websites, resumes, and acting or modeling portfolios.
Q3: How should I prepare for my headshot session? A: Get plenty of rest the night before, stay hydrated, and avoid heavy drinking. Make sure your hair is clean and styled, and shave or groom facial hair as needed. Consider wearing solid colors and minimal accessories to keep the focus on your face.
Q4: What should I wear? A: Wear clothing that reflects your industry and personal style. Solid colors work best, avoiding busy patterns and logos (unless it is a company logo). Ensure your clothes are clean and wrinkle-free. Bring a couple of outfit options to choose from during the session.
Q5: Should I get my hair and makeup done professionally? A: Professional makeup can enhance your appearance and make you feel more confident. I have partnered with make-up artist, Dominique Stroman to provide make-up services (additional cost). You will be able to connect with her directly if you are interested in adding the make-up option.
Q6: How long does a headshot session last? A: Sessions typically last between 5 to 20 minutes, depending on the package and number of outfits or background changes.
Q7: Can I bring props or accessories? A: Yes, but keep them minimal and relevant to your profession. Items like glasses, ties, or jewelry can add a personal touch but should not distract from your face.
Q8: Can I see the photos during the session? A: Yes, we allow you to preview shots during the session to ensure you’re happy with the direction and make any necessary adjustments.
Q9: Will I receive proofs of my images to select from? A. Yes, typically, you will receive a set number of proof images to review and select from, often ranging from 3 to 5 images in low-resolution.
Q10. How many photos will I receive? A: The number of final photos varies by package. The Brief Headshot package includes one final retouched high-resolution jpg image, and the Executive Headshot package includes two final retouched high-resolution jpg images.
Q11: How long does it take to receive the final photos? A: Editing usually takes between 3-5 business days, depending on the photographer's schedule and workload. You will receive a link to download your high-resolution images once they are ready.
Q12: Can I request additional retouching? A: Yes, I offer additional retouching services for an additional cost of $35 per image. Discuss any specific requests during your session or after viewing the initial proofs.
Q13: What are the payment terms when booking a session? A: When you register for your headshot session, you have the option to pay a $25 deposit to secure your space or you may pay the full amount due. If you pay the deposit only, the remaining balance for your session is due by the end of your session.
Q14: What are the payment methods? A: You may pay the remaining balance in cash, or through debit or credit card.
Terms and Conditions for Headshot and Portrait Photography
1. General Overview These Terms and Conditions ("Agreement") are entered into by Erica Banner Photography ("Photographer") and the Client ("Client") upon booking any headshot or portrait photography services. By booking a session, the Client agrees to the terms outlined below.
2. Booking and Payments 2.1. Session Fees: A non-refundable retainer of $25.00 is required to secure the session date and time. The balance is due 1 day before the session. 2.2. Rescheduling and Cancellations:
3. Session Details 3.1. Punctuality: The Client agrees to arrive on time. Late arrivals may result in reduced session time or cancellation without refund. 3.2. Preparation: The Client is responsible for arriving in proper attire, hair, and makeup unless additional services are included in the package.
4. Deliverables 4.1. Image Editing: The Photographer will deliver professionally edited images. Additional editing requests may incur an extra fee. 4.2. Delivery Timeline: Final image (s) will be delivered within 48 hours via online gallery. 4.3. Image Selection: The Client will receive proofs to select from the session.
5. Usage Rights 5.1. Client Usage: The Client is granted personal use rights for the delivered images. Commercial use requires a separate agreement. 5.2. Photographer Usage: The Photographer retains copyright of all images and may use them for portfolio, marketing, or promotional purposes unless otherwise agreed in writing.
6. Liability 6.1. The Photographer is not responsible for circumstances beyond their control, such as weather, location restrictions, or unforeseen technical issues. 6.2. The Photographer’s liability is limited to the refund of session fees in the event of equipment failure or loss of images.
7. Confidentiality Any personal information provided by the Client will be handled with confidentiality and not shared with third parties.
8. Force Majeure In the event of circumstances beyond the control of either party (natural disasters, emergencies, etc.), the Photographer will make reasonable efforts to reschedule the session or provide a refund.
9. Governing Law This Agreement is governed by the laws of the state of Maryland.
10. Agreement and Acknowledgment By booking a session, the Client acknowledges they have read, understood, and agree to these Terms and Conditions.
